Details: The drama "American Idyll" is the film adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name by Philip Roth. Time magazine even lists the work among the 100 best English-language novels. The screen adaptation is the eagerly awaited directorial debut of Hollywood star Ewan McGregor, who also plays the lead role alongside Jennifer Connelly and Dakota Fanning. The music for the story about a model American family in 1960s America, which is torn apart when its daughter joins protest movements and becomes involved in terrorist attacks, was composed by Oscar winner Alexandre Desplat. The French composer has already been responsible for the soundtracks for over 150 film and television productions, such as "The Grand Budapest," "Argo," and "The King's Speech," and underscores "American Idyll" with subtle, orchestral drama. The album contains 16 tracks of his score as well as a cover version of "Moon River" by singer and multi-instrumentalist Priscilla Ahn.
