Now was the time again after we released the last Schandmaul album, explains Thomas, adding: "We want roaring guitars, but we don't shy away from incorporating poppy keyboards. If we're the good storytellers with Schandmaul, with Weto we point out the other side of the coin. We're the finger on the sore spot."
Schattenspieler is a success in every respect. The distinctive voice, beloved by thousands of Schandmaul fans, also lends Weto's songs their unmistakable credo. Weto seem almost more mass-market-friendly, more attuned to the mainstream. Schattenspieler is certainly not designed to eke out a shadowy existence!
